How can you calculate the pool water volume?

The water volume in a pool is calculated in cubic meters (m³) or in litres if converted to the equivalent (1 m³ = 1000 litres). It’s important to note that the depth varies on each pool, but the average depth used for above ground pools is 4 metres while the average depth used for in ground pools is 5.5 metres.

For a rectangular or square pool (in metres)
Length x Width x average depth = volume in m³

For a circular pool (in metres)
Diameter x Diameter x average depth x 0,78 = volume in m³

For an oval pool (in metres)
Length x Width x average depth x 0.89 = volume in m³

What's a COP?

A Coefficient Of Performance (COP) indicated the ratio of heat gained in exchange of electricity. Therefore, if your COP is 8 (such as our Moov Inverter), the heat pump will produce 8kW of heat in exchange for 1kW of electricity. This is a great way to compare the efficiency of heat pumps on the market.

How to winterize your heat pump?

The process to winterize your heat pump is simple. Simply follow the next steps after shutting off the water circulation and completing other tasks related to closing the pool for the season.

  1. Cut off the electrical feed to the heat pump by turning off the breaker.
  2. Unscrew both water rings (entry and exit) on the back or the side of the heat pump.
  3. You’ll have to dry the inside part of the heat pump you’ve just unscrewed. Simply suck out the water left in there with a shopvac from the bottom inlet or blow out with the shopvac the air from the top inlet.
  4. Optional: Fill up with an antifreeze liquid the top inlet with a funnel until liquid comes out from the bottom inlet. Plug the bottom inlet. Fill up the rest of the product with the liquid until it comes out from the top inlet. Plug the top inlet.
  5. Cover the heat pump with a cover while leaving a space for air to flow. This will ensure the product doesn’t accumulate humidity which could potentially damage the product.

How manu BTUs are required?

The rule of thumb is that you’ll need 1.5 BTU to heat 1 litre for an above pool ground and 1.3 BTU to heat 1 litre for an in ground pool.

Is it better to run on "Low Salt" or "Regular Salt"

There’s no good or bad answer. In any case, your salt system (if it is well programmed) will produce enough chlorine to keep the water crystal clear. Nonetheless, these programmed modes have been created for a reason. Consult a pool expert in your area to understand your needs and requirements as they’ll be better suited to guide you.

How to winterize the product?

For MiniSalt:

Turn off the power to prevent damage to the machine.
Blow the water out of the water circuit, including the cell.
Remove the casing and disconnect the flow sensor, power supply, and connectors on the cell.
Store the casing in a shed or your home to protect it from winter weather.
For JustSalt:

Turn off the power to prevent damage to the machine.
Blow the water out of the water circuit, including the cell.
Remove the casing and disconnect the flow sensor, power supply, grounding, salt/temperature sensor, and connectors on the cell. If the pH sensor is used, follow specific procedures to winterize it.
The sensor must always be in a liquid. During winter, the sensor head should be placed in a solution of demineralized water and kept at a temperature above freezing.
Store the casing in a shed or your home to protect it from winter weather.
